ABOUT 'I HEART THIS'

We believe that appreciation is one the highest callings of a human being. Our mission is to remind you that the world is full of miracles. Think of us as a series of audio thank you notes to the universe. In every episode we celebrate another reason for living. We uncover forgotten and often surprising reasons to notice the blessings around us–weaving in history, art, philosophy, and science. Join us for a regular dose of joy.

There’s enough outrage in the world; let’s talk about what we love!

MEET YOUR HOST

BEN LORD

Science teacher, writer, library aficionado, one time yoga teacher, mediocre musician, poet, and aspiring cave man.

Dude is 100% nerd. Gets jazzed about identifying local lichens.  Wears T-shirts that say stuff like “REUNITE GONDWANALAND” and “MY PASSWORD IS THE LAST EIGHT DIGITS OF PI.” Reads textbooks like other people read novels. Curious to a fault.

Ben lives at the end of this crazy-long dirt road in the wooded hills of Vermont with two kids, two cats, and the love of his life. A perpetual fan of new projects, Ben can be usually be found in some rural outpost biting off more than he can chew.
